Mediator Larry Watson to Speak at Construction Law Institute

ORLANDO, Fla. (March 13,2014) -- Lawrence M. (Larry) Watson, a principal and mediator with Upchurch Watson White & Max, will speak on insurance coverage issues in mediation at the popular Construction Law Institute at Rosen Shingle Creek at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, March 22.



"When a dispute arises as to the cause and effect of a construction defect, whether that dispute is resolved through litigation or settlement, the question of available insurance coverage becomes critical," Mr. Watson says . "What these policies are contractually obligated to pay – the amount and extent of resources they actually provide - becomes an essential part of the resolution of any construction defect dispute."

His advice to litigators will be part of a workshop titled “Who’s on First? Insurance Coverage Issues in Mediation," presented with Bruce Alexander of Ciklin Lubitz Martens & O'Connell in West Palm Beach. The three-day seventh annual Construction Law Institute opens with a golf tournament on Thursday, March 20, and includes many opportunities for Continuing Legal Education credits through The Florida Bar. The conference is presented by the Bar's CLE Committee and its Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section's Construction Law Committee.
