Florida Mediator Lawrence Kolin to Speak at NYC Masters Conference

MAITLAND, Fla. (July 7, 2015) — Lawrence Kolin, a mediator and arbitrator with Upchurch Watson White & Max, has been invited to speak about streamlining electronic discovery at the Masters Conference for Legal Professionals on Tuesday, July 21, in New York City.

Mr. Kolin had chaired the recent effort to amend Florida Civil Procedure Rules to include e-discovery and has taught for the state's Advanced Judicial College. He frequently writes for legal publications, such as the Orange County Bar Association Briefs, and is author of the officially listed ABA Journal "Blawg" Orlando Mediator (www.abajournal.com/blawg/ Orlando_Mediator) and other online works. He began his alternative dispute resolution practice in 2001 and established his own successful Winter Park mediation firm in 2010 after 20 years of diverse civil trial work and partnership in a statewide law firm.

At his upcoming appearance, from 11 a.m. to noon at the daylong conference, Mr. Kolin and other industry experts will take attendees through the lifecycle of a case — focusing on fixing problem areas for a more cost-effective approach — in a panel discussion titled "How to Streamline eDiscovery." His co-presenters will be Andreae Selleck, discovery specialist for E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., and Martin Gomberg, executive adviser and workshop leader on data protection and global technology and privacy for J.P. Morgan Chase.

In fact, all eight of the conference's sessions at New York's famed Harvard Club concentrate on e-discovery, data protection, records management and related topics. "Whether you’re dealing with e-discovery in a new, socially networked world, find your company expanding globally and thus facing international discovery issues, or planning for the future of e-discovery in your firm or company, you know there’s a divide between what is in practice today and where your firm needs to be in the near future," according to conference organizers. "Legal professionals must develop strategies for spanning this e-discovery divide before it expands further across traditional borders, whether physical or technical."
