The Florida Experience

Upchurch Watson White & Max principal, Lawrence M. Watson was invited to make a presentation at a special luncheon for the Circuit Court Judges of the Law and Chancery Divisions of Cook County, Chicago, IL on June 8, 2012. Katheryn Dutenhaver, the Director of DePaul University College of Law’s Center for Dispute Resolution arranged the luncheon held in downtown Chicago at the Cook County courthouse.

Watson, a notable speaker who is recognized as a driving force behind mediation in Florida, delivered the presentation “Change of Judicial Views on Mediation: The Florida Experience”, and participated in an interactive discussion with the attending judges.

On June 7th Mr. Watson spoke to the attendees of the Florida Liability Claims Conference at their General Session, giving a presentation on “Mediation Techniques and Update on Mediation Law” with panel members, David Henry of the Alvarez Sambol and Winthrop law firm, Orlando and Bruce Blitman, mediator with Oasis Alliance Corporation and Special Master for the City of South Miami. This year’s conference was held at Disney’s Contemporary Resort in Lake Buena Vista.
