A. Michelle Jernigan, shareholder with Upchurch Watson White & Max, has been invited to speak at the Family Business Alliance annual meeting held at
Stetson
University in Celebration,
Florida
from June 19-20, 2008.
Ms. Jernigan's presentation is scheduled for Thursday, June 19 from 3 - 4:30 PM on the topic "A Proactive Approach to Avoiding Conflicts within the Family Business".
The Family Business Alliance is a group of universities across the country that has programs that focus on family business, including the University of Pittsburg, University of the Pacific and the
University of Massachusetts.
In 1988, Ms. Jernigan was one of the first mediators to be certified by the Florida Supreme Court. Since launching her mediation career in 1987, she has mediated thousands of cases throughout Florida and regularly provides mediation training at basic and advanced courses and is a recognized speaker in the field of ADR. She is a panel member of the Upchurch Watson White & Max Family Business Mediation Group; a team of neutrals working with family legal and financial professionals in the prevention and resolution of family business disputes.
