Upchurch Watson White & Max mediator Lawrence H. Kolin will join the Hon. Paul G. Byron, U.S. District Judge for the Middle District of Florida, as a presenter for the Florida Bar ADR Section’s July Lunch & Learn program, presented in collaboration with the Florida Dispute Resolution Center.
The free online CLE/CME program, “Mediation in the Federal Courts in Florida,” is scheduled for Friday, July 10, 2026, from noon to 1 p.m. ET via Zoom. It concludes the ADR Section’s 2026 Lunch & Learn Series.
The presentation will examine mediation as a structural component of federal civil practice, giving attorneys and mediators a practical overview of the authority for mediation under the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, the ways Florida’s federal district courts administer alternative dispute resolution programs, and the unique characteristics of mediation in the federal court system.
Kolin, a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator and former chair of The Florida Bar’s ADR Section, has long been active in advancing mediation education throughout Florida. His work as a mediator, speaker and author has focused on helping attorneys and parties resolve complex disputes efficiently while promoting best practices in alternative dispute resolution.
The July program is offered at no cost and includes continuing legal and mediator education credit. Registration closes at 5 p.m. on July 9. Register here.
