Upchurch Watson White & Max Sponsors OCBA Program Featuring the Client Experience in Mediation

ORLANDO, Fla. (November 13, 2025) – Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group is proud to serve as a sponsor of “The Voice of the Client: The Client’s Perspective in Mediation,” a continuing legal education program presented jointly by the Orange County Bar Association’s ADR Committee and The Florida Bar’s ADR Section. The event will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2026, at the OCBA Center, 880 North Orange Avenue, Orlando.

This 75-minute session is designed for litigators, in-house counsel and dispute-resolution professionals seeking advanced strategies and a deeper understanding of how clients perceive the mediation process. The program includes a screening of “The Voice of the Client,” an insightful film produced by The Florida Bar’s ADR Section that uses real-life experiences to illustrate how clients navigate mediation, what they value and where communication gaps arise. (View a trailer here.)

Following the film, a panel of experienced trial attorneys, a United States magistrate judge, and seasoned mediators will lead a discussion on preparation, communication, ethical responsibilities and mediator techniques.

UWWM’s A. Michelle Jernigan will serve as emcee, and two of the firm’s mediators, Lawrence Kolin and Robert A. “Bob” Cole, will participate as panelists.

Additional presenters are Harold Oehler, Jeffrey Fleming, Chris Magee, Mel Wright, Tom Dukes, United States Magistrate Judge Robert M. Norway, and Michael Kelley.

Attendees will receive access to the Florida Mediation Best Practices Handbook, a resource filled with practical tools, strategies, and both state and federal mediation forms to support and enhance mediation performance.

The program is $30, or $20 for OCBA members. Online registration is open through January 16, 2026.
