Shareholder's Published in ACCTM Journal

A. Michelle Jernigan and Richard B. Lord, shareholders with Upchurch Watson White & Max and co-directors of the firm's Family Business services panel, collaborated on an article titled, "The Mediator's Role in the Family Business".

The American Journal of Mediation, established and sponsored by the Fellows of the ACCTM, began publication in 2007.  The Journal was created to serve a high level of experience in the national dispute resolution community.

The mission of UWWM's Family Business services panel is to work with the legal and financial professionals advising a family business to promote healthy family deliberations.

Michelle Jernigan was one of the first mediators to be certified by the Florida Supreme Court in 1988.  She has developed and implemented mediation training programs for Orlando Regional Healthcare Systems and Eckerd Corporation.  She regularly provides mediation training at basic and advanced courses in Florida and is a recognized speaker in the field of ADR.

Richard Lord is admitted to practice in the State Courts of Florida, as well as the United States District Courts for the Middle and Northern Districts of Florida, and is qualified to serve as a mediator, arbitrator and Special Master.  Mr. Lord is a registered mediator in Alabama and is certified as a Rule 31 mediator in Tennessee.
