Members of Upchurch Watson White & Max's Center for National Class and Mass Actions explain how to maintain ethical standards and civil discourse before, during and after mediations that arise from class and mass actions.

Terry White, Steve Jaffe and Lance Harke have decades of class and mass action experience in a vast array of cases. Please join them as they answer questions posed in advance by attendees and inject perspectives from the Plaintiff and Defendant side -- and the middle.

Featured Presenters 

Terry White, a founding partner of UWWM, has conducted well over 4,000 mediated conferences throughout the state. He participated by invitation in The Harvard University Initial Advanced Negotiation Techniques Program with 30 negotiators from around the world, and was requested to lecture at the U.S. 11th Circuit Court Judges Conference as well as the Georgia Superior Court Judges Conference. He is often invited to lecture at plaintiff and defense legal conferences.

Steven Jaffe litigated a wide variety of civil matters, from both the defense and plaintiff sides, throughout Florida and nationwide between 1984 and 2017. His practice areas include personal injury, class action, medical malpractice, breach of contract, consumer fraud, long-term care insurance and complex commercial cases. Steven handled class actions for 17 years in various courts throughout the country before joining UWWM and has now mediated a significant number of class-action matters.

Lance Harke, a recent addition to the UWWM panel, has concentrated his practice in the areas of multi-state consumer class action litigation, insurance litigation, employment matters, professional malpractice, products liability defense, and general and complex commercial litigation. He has served as lead class counsel or a member of the plaintiffs’ steering committee in a wide variety of national multi-district mass tort and class action litigations, including some of the largest cases in U.S. history.
