MAY SPEAKING ENGAGEMENTS

Mediation panelist and 7th Circuit’s Board of Governors’ representative, Sandra C. Upchurch,(left) represented The Florida Bar at the May 8th induction ceremony for new lawyers at the 5th DCA.  Sandy welcomed new lawyers to the practice of law, encouraging them to extend the qualities of courtroom decorum and professionalism to their everyday lives.  At the Volusia County Bar Association’s annual Professionalism Symposium  held at the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University campus on May 11th, Sandy spoke to the attendees regarding professionalism and the impact it will have on their career. 

On May 12th, Sandy and Robert Cole of our Jacksonville office presented the seminar “Ethical Issues in ADR” to members of the Florida Alliance of Paralegal Association at their Spring Seminar held at the Wingate by Wyndham in Jacksonville. The organization, a group of local paralegal associations throughout the state, is responsible for the establishment of The Florida Bar’s Florida Registered Paralegal Program, creating mandatory standards for paralegals of Florida.

  On May 17, Principal, John Upchurch (left) and shareholders, Kimberly Sands and Richard Lord  presented a seminar entitled “What’s Going On In The Other Room” to attendees of a dinner meeting of the Central Florida Medical Malpractice Claims Council, Inc. (CFMMCCI) at The University Club, Orlando. The organizations’ membership is comprised of the area’s senior Med-Mal defense lawyers and risk professionals as well as claims representatives of Florida Hospital and Orlando Health.
