During the course of a mediation, how many times have we heard “That’s not my problem” in response to an opposing party’s explanation of their position? In the mediation setting, if all parties want to reach resolution, one party’s problem can, and often does, create real trouble for everyone. For an effective mediation to occur, all parties must understand and appreciate one another’s “problems” and work with the mediator to address them. Presenters Bo Dennis and Scott Schomber will talk about what’s happening in the other room, giving insights into what is going on in the plaintiff’s room and the defendant’s room and the challenges they each face. They will touch on how these challenges can derail the mediation process and how the problems can be addressed.

Bo, before becoming a mediator at UWWM, represented injured persons and their families for over 30 years. He will speak to “The Plaintiff’s Room.” Prior to becoming a mediator, Scott Schomber represented individuals, companies, and insurers named as Defendant. He will speak to “The Defendant’s Room.”

Accreditation for 1.0 hours of General Continuing Legal Education (CLE) is pending with The Florida Bar.

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the webinar.
