About

In his private practice, Joe Dawson excelled both as a trial and appellate attorney, appearing before the Florida Supreme Court; the United States Court of Appeals, 11th Circuit; the Third, Fourth and Fifth District Court of Appeals, as well as trials in the 11th, 15th and 17th Judicial Circuits in Florida and the United States District Court, Southern District. He represented parties in more than 2,000 mediations and conducted over 300 jury trials, primarily in the areas of personal injury, first party insurance claims, insurance bad faith, product liability and complex tort litigation such as construction litigation.

In his youth, Joe acted in plays and worked as a radio play-by-play sports announcer to hone his communication skills in preparation to be a trial lawyer. His meticulous attention to detail is an attribute he brings to the mediation dynamic.

When litigating, he was known for his aggressive style and thorough preparation, and Joe’s practice evolved from a mixture of criminal law and personal injury matters to focus primarily on first-party insurance litigation, bad faith insurance practices and personal injury matters.
