About

F. Bradley Hassell, founding member of a trial practice law firm, has conducted hundreds of mediations, both representing parties and as a mediator, in his practice of over four decades. Brad frequently has served as arbitrator and sometimes as special master in civil disputes and now makes ADR his full-time profession.

Since 1982, he has been in private practice in the areas of personal injury, wrongful death and products liability cases, insurance coverage questions and disputes, appellate practice and aviation law. He has served as associate counsel in catastrophic injury and damage cases filed throughout the southeastern U.S. and the courts of the Bahamas and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Brad has taught aviation law, insurance law and civil trial law issues for courses sponsored by The Florida Bar, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and other organizations. He is one of only about 1,000 attorneys certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in civil trial law. He is one of 42 attorneys certified by the Florida Bar as a specialist in aviation law.

Until recently, Brad also maintained an active appellate practice. Years ago, the chief judge of the newly-created Florida Fifth District Court of Appeal recruited Brad, a young lawyer at that time, to assist in initiating the court’s operations. Brad developed and implemented that court’s initial case handling and processing systems and later served as a senior judicial research assistant for two of the court’s judges, Spencer C. Cross and Joe A. Cowart Jr.
