South Florida City Commissioner and Litigator Ken Cutler Joins UWWM’s Panel

South Florida Mediator Ken Cutler

PARKLAND, Fla. (March 26, 2024) – Kenneth A. Cutler may be best known as a city commissioner (District 3), but he has added a full-time career as a mediator and arbitrator to his extensive résumé. He recently joined Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group.

After 38 years as a litigator based in South Florida, Mr. Cutler retired from his law practice as a founding partner of Cutler Rader PL in September 2023 and began working as a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator shortly after.

“Ken Cutler possesses all of the major qualities we seek for our panel, including deep experience in negligence and related cases, significant recognition by his peers for professional excellence, and a strong record of charitable and community leadership,” John Upchurch, the mediation group’s CEO, said. “We are honored he selected us to host his mediation practice, and look forward to an enduring and rewarding relationship.”

Between 1986 and 2023, he litigated cases as a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent-rated attorney in state and federal courts, concentrating in the negligence field of law, including automobile accident cases and premises cases like slip-and-falls and negligent security cases. The National Trial Lawyers named him to its Top 100 in the Civil-Plaintiff category in 2019.

He and his firm also handled trucking crashes, medical malpractice cases, defective product cases and a wide variety of business litigation matters.

“My family and I are particularly active in the community, and my fellow Parkland residents elected me to serve two four-year terms as a Parkland Commissioner for the 2016 and 2020 terms,” Mr. Cutler said. “I was honored by the charity In Jacob’s Shoes with a Community Leadership Award in 2019 and with the 2020 Shining Star Award by the Rotary Club of Coral Springs-Parkland Foundation.”
