The conflict resolution professionals of Upchurch Watson White & Max Mediation Group have provided mediation, arbitration, and other alternative dispute resolution services since 1988. One of the services the firm provides most often is business mediation. Parties to business mediation may be individuals, small businesses, national or international companies who find themselves in a dispute over a contract, employment, or real estate. The role of the business mediator is to help the parties identify and prioritize their respective interests, recognize and overcome any roadblocks to settlement, and to facilitate the communications between the parties necessary to reach an amicable solution.
Business Mediation Overview
A commercial dispute is at its core a problem to be solved, rather than a battle to be fought and won. The successful business mediator is able to bring this problem-solving philosophy to the negotiating table, with the goal of having the business mediation parties embrace it as well. The business mediators of Upchurch Watson White & Max are dedicated to finding creative solutions in business mediation so that the parties may put their dispute behind them, and ideally find ways in which to do business with one another in the future.
Business Mediation Experience
Several mediators in our firm practice extensively in the area of business mediation services, including principals Lawrence M. Watson, Jr., Rodney A. Max, and Michael S. Orfinger. All of our conflict resolution professionals are Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediators. Many have taken courses from Harvard University Law School in Basic and Advanced Negotiations, and are members of such organizations as the American College of Civil Trial Mediators, the Association of Attorney Mediators, the Professional Mediation Institute, and the International Academy of Mediators. Our mediators’ training, continued education and professional affiliations make them particularly well suited to the rigor and complexity of business mediation.
